ABC Delivers a Dominant 8 of the Week’s Top 10 TV Shows in Adults 18-49Fueled by continuing coverage of the 2019 NBA Finals (Games 5 and 6) and strong premieres for its new Wednesday “Summer Fun & Games” lineup, ABC dominated its 3rd straight week, increasing its advantage over runner-up NBC to 49% in Total Viewers (6.1 million vs. 4.1 million) versus 13% the prior week, while nearly doubling NBC among Adults 18-49 (+89% – 1.7/9 vs. 0.9/5).
In viewers and young adults, ABC marked its strongest week in nearly 4 months– since the week of “The Oscars®” (w/o 2/18/19).
- Rankings: ABC scored a resounding 8 of the Top 10 TV shows for the week in Adults 18-49 with the “NBA Finals on ABC” Games 5 and 6 claiming the Top 2 spots:
- “NBA Finals on ABC-GM5” – No. 1,
- “NBA Finals on ABC-GM6” – No. 2,
- “NBA Countdown-GM5” – No. 4,
- “NBA Countdown-GM6” – No. 5,
- “The Bachelorette SP-6/11” – No. 7,
- “J. Kimmel Lv! GM Night 5” – No. 8, while
- “Press Your Luck” and “J. Kimmel Lv! GM Night 6” tied for No. 9.
Additionally, ABC’s coverage of the 2019 NBA Finals delivered the week’s Top 2 most-watched TV programs overall with Game 6 and Game 5, respectively.
