US Box Office Results: May 24 - 27, 2019
The much anticipated live remake of Disneys ALADDIN topped the 4-day Memorial Day weekend, scoring nearly $113 million in its first four days of release. $22 million was brought in on Monday, alone.
That pushed down last week's #1 movie, JOHN WICK 3, to second place with a $31 million take, bringing its 11-day total to a solid $107.6 million. AVENGERS: ENDGAME took third with $22.3 million and its current domestic total is now over $803 million.
Other new movies in theaters this weekend were superhero/horror film, BRIGHTBURN (#5), grossing just $9.5 million, but has made back its $6 million production budget. BOOKSMART didn't do so well either, ranking 6th with $8.7 million. Both movies will struggle to make $30 million in their theatrical release.
