US Box Office Results: May 10 - 12, 2019

For the third week in a row, AVENGERS ENDGAME was the #1 domestic movie, grabbing another $63 million, to bring its 17-day total to a healthy $723 million. That is more than double is reported $356 million production budget. ENDGAME is now the #3 all-time grossing movie, domestically, and is less then $40 million behind AVATAR, for the #2 spot. It still needs more then $200 million to catch THE FORCE AWAKENS, as the #1 movie of all-time.

POKEMON: DETECTIVE PIKACHU hauled in a respectable $58 million in its first weekend of release, about one-third of its $150 million production budget. But the world wide appeal of POKEMON  has the world wide gross currently at $170 million. DETECTIVE PIKACHU did record the best opening for a video game adaptation.
