US Box Office Results: April 5 - 7, 2019

Another week, another #1 movie at the US box office. This weekend, SHAZAM! takes the top spot with $53.5 MILLION. That is the lowest opening by a DCEU film, but is only $14 million behind the second worst opening film, AQUAMAN, which went on to be the highest grossing DCEU film. Internationally, SHAZAM! grossed over $102 million.

Also out new this weekend was PET SEMATARY, based on the Stephen King book. The remake of the 1989 original hauled in $25 million , $4 million above its production budget.

BEST OF ENEMIES, the third new film in wide release, ranked 6th on the chart, grabbing just $3.7 million. It may be lucky to make back its $10 million production budget.
