US Box Office Results: March 8 - 10, 2019
To no one's surprise, Marvel's CAPTAIN MARVEL was this weekend's #1 movie, grossing $153 million in its first three days of release. That is the seventh best opening for an MCU film, behind 2013's IRON MAN 3, but just ahead of 2017's GUARDIAN'S OF THE GALAXY 2. Worldwide, CAPTAIN MARVEL has collected $455 million.
Only two other movies did decent business at the box office, with last week's #1, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3, getting another $14.7 million and Tyler Perry's MADEA FAMILY FUNERAL grabbing $12.1 million. Every other movie was under $4 million.
