US Box Office Results: March 29 - 31, 2019
The live action version of the classic Disney movie, DUMBO, topped the box office, with a $45 million take in its first weekend of release. Of the ten Disney animated movies that have gotten the live action reimagining, DUMBO ranks 7th, behind 2015's CINDERELLA ($67.9 million) and ahead of 1996's 101 DALMATIANS, the first of the current trend.
Last week's #1, US, drops to second with $33.6 million, bringing its 10-day total to $128 million, over six-times its $20 million production budget.
In its fourth week of release, CAPTAIN MARVEL adds another $20.5 million, with an accumulated domestic total of just under $354 million.
