US Box Office Results: February 8 - 10, 2019
Back from a short vacation, time to get back to the weekly charts and reports! First up, the US box office results form this past weekend.
THE LEGO MOVIE 2 was the #1 film in theaters, grossing $34.1 million , in its first three days of release. That is about half the take the first LEGO movie took in, back in 2014, and only tops LEGO NINJAGO, for an opening weekend.
The remake/re-imaged WHAT ME WANT was second, hauling in just $18.2 million. Not bad for a film that cost just $20 million to produce, but will fall short of $60 million in its box office take. The film was also $15 million she of the Mel Gibson original, WHAT WOMEN WANT, which grossed $33.6 million in its first weekend, back in December of 2000.
Coming in third, was another new release, COLD PURSUIT, starring Liam Neeson. The revenge action film brought in just $11.8 million and will be luck to have a total domestic take of $30 million, by the time it end its theatrical run.
