US Box Office Results: October 5 - 7, 2018
Two big movies debuted this weekend, combining for over $120 million at the box office. VENOM doubled up A STAR IS BORN, collecting $80 million. In comparison, VENOM pulled in five million dollars more then the opening of ANT-MAN AND THE WASP. Worldwide,, VENOM has grossed over $200 million, easily making back its $100 million production budget.
The latest remake of A STAR IS BORN did a very respectable $41.3 million. It is the fourth best opening for Bradley Cooper, behind the three HANGOVER movies and 2010's VALENTINES DAY.
Only five films made over $5 million this weekend, allowing the meager $900k by THE PREDATOR to rank tenth on the weekend.
