US Box Office Results: October 12 - 14, 2018
Last week's #1 and #2 movies are this week's #1 and #2 movies, with VENOM retaining the crown as the #1 movie in America. The Marvel movie hauled in another $35.7 million, bringing its 10-day total to $142.8 million and assuring a profit for the $100 million film.
A STAR IS BORN (#2) Is just six million dollars shy of $100 million, allowing the drama of tripling its money over its $36 million budget.
New film, FIRST MAN, had a very disappointing opening weekend, ranking third and only taking in $16.5 million. The bio-pic will struggle to make back its $59 million production budget, especially as we ramp up with the Halloween and Holiday movies, until the end of the year.
Making almost the same amount at the box office, GOOSEBUMPS 2, will make a profit over its $35 million budget. The sequel fell $7.4 million short of equaling the first film's opening weekend.
