US Box Office Results: September 21 - 23, 2018
Forth the fourth week in a row, a different movie tops the box office chart, with new release THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALL, being the latest winner. The family movie grossed just under $27 million in its first three days of release. That should estimate out to roughly a $80 domestic gross, for its theatrical run, twice what it cost to make the film.
In its third weekend of release, THE NUN crosses over the $100 million mark, with $10.3 million this weekend. The fifth film in the Conjuring series should rank second in the series, by the end of Monday and has a good chance of topping 2013's original film's total gross of $137.4 million, which would put it in the top five of R-rated horror films.
Failing to make the top ten in its first weekend, LIFE ITSELF grossed just $2.1 million, while in over 2,600 theaters, it had the second lowest per-screen average ($807) of any movie in over 600 theaters, and was beat by some movies in less than 300.
