Preliminary Ratings: Friday, 08/03/2018

With two season finales, ABC could not do any better than third place in the Friday night ratings. At 8 PM, the series finale of QUANTICO generated just 2.7 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49, near season average numbers. The drama was third in it time slot. Following QUANTICO was the season finale of WHAT WOULD YOU DO, which maintained its lead in numbers, but rose above CBS for second in the 9 PM hour. 20/20 pushed the numbers higher, to a 0.5 demo rating and 3.1 million viewers, but kept ABC in second, at 10 PM.

NBC was the #1 network, winning every hour of the night with an encore of AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR (3.0 million viewers, 0.6 rating A18-49), from 8 to 10 PM.At 10 PM, DATLINE rose viewership to 3.5 million, and kept 100% of its A18-49 audience lead in.

Relocated CBS game show,TKO, tied ANW for first in the 8 PM hour and held 9 PM series, WHISTLEBLOWER, keep pace with ABC in the 9 PM hour. A repeat of BLUE BLOODS was the most watched show fo the night, with over four million viewers, but was last in the demo, in its 10 PM time slot.

The numbers may be inflated by local preemption, but currently The CW topped FOX for fourth place on the night. MASTERS OF ILLUTION averaged 1.3 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 8 PM hour, while an encore of PENN & TELLER: FOOL US topped FOX's THE RESIDENT repeat, at 9 PM.
