It was another encore heavy night, from the five networks, with just four of the 13 programming hours in originals. NBC won the night, with a 1.1 rating in Adults 18-49 and averaged 6.6 million viewers on the night. CBS was second with an average of 4.2 million viewers and a 0.7 demo rating. FOX and ABC were near identical with their all-repeat lineups, averaging under two million viewers and a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49. The CW encores kept their average below 700k in viewers and a 0.2 demo rating.
NBC's annual MACY'S 4th OF JULY FIREWORKS was the top draw of the night, averaging7.5 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49, from 8 to 10 PM. an encore from 10–11 PM kept 4.9 million viewers and a 0.9 demographic rating.
On CBS, BIG BROTHER drew 3.9 million viewers, on the holiday, along with a 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49. CODE BLACK retained 4.9 million viewers and a 0.6 demo rating.
