The long awaited Pixar movie, INCREDIBLES 2, bursts onto the scene with a $180 million take in its first three days of release. That is the best ever opening by a Pixar film, beating FINDING DORY by $45 million. Fourteen years earlier, the first INCREDIBLES took in $70 million in its opening weekend.
OCEAN'S 8 drops to the #2 spot, with just under $20 million and bring's its 10-day total to just over $79 million. That gets it over the film's $70 production budget.
Taking third place was the new film, TAG, grossing $14.6 million, or just over half its $28 million production budget. TAG should get close to $50 million in its theatrical run.
