Everything old, is new again. ABC rides the rebooted ROSEANNE to a weekly win, while the sitcom returns to the #1 spot, after 20 years off the air. the 10th season premiere hauled in 18.4 million viewers and a solid 5.2 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 60 minute episode. The next closest show on the chart was THE BIG BANG THEORY, with half the demo rating and 5 million less viewers. ABC pushed seven other shows into the top 30, including the season finale of THE DOCTOR, at #8.
NBC edged out CBS for the #2 spot of the week, placing five shows in the top 30, including the two and a half hour Live production of JESUS CRIST, SUPERSTAR, LIVE, at #7. The network also had three nights of THE VOICE, in the top third of the chart.
CBS did have the most shows in the top 30, with 16. Only two of its non-Saturday night shows failed to rank in the top 40, as SUPERIOR DONUTS placed 41st and LIVING BIBLICALLY placed 50th.
FOX barely had one top 30 program, as EMPIRE premiered in the 28th spot. Fellow Wednesday night drama, STAR, made it only to the #40 spot.
The special animated SCOOBY-DOO crossover episode of SUPERNATURAL ranked 29th in Adults 18-34.
