Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 03/11/2018

With the reboot of AMERICAN IDOL, ABC powers its way to a Sunday night sweep, averaging 8.2 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49. The premiere of AI drew 10.4 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49, that is down 600,000 total viewers and over 20% in the A18-49 demographic, from the last season premiere, in 2016. In today's TV landscape, that is a pretty good restart for the series. The new crime drama, DECEPTION, followed AMERICAN IDOL, retaining just 59% of total viewers and 57% in the demo.

FOX was a distant second place on the night, topping CBS and NBC in the younger demographics, thanks to two hours of the OJ SIMPSON: THE LOST CONFESSION special. The event grabbed 4.4 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49.

CBS was #2 in total viewers and in the A25-54 demographics, as NCIS and MADAM SECRETARY returned to new episodes. MDADAM SECRETARY was last in its 10 PM time slot, in all three demo categories.

On NBC, TIMELESS returned for its second season premiere, holding most of its lead in audience.
