US Box Office Results: January 5 - 7, 2018
In its third weekend of release, JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE became the #1 movie, bringing in $36 million. In 17 days in release, the movie has grossed $244.3 million and should easily make it to $300 million before the end of its run.
New film, INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY was #2 on the weekend, grossing over $29 million in its first three days. it is the second biggest opening in the INSIDIOUS franchise, behind chapter 2, released in 2013. The horror flick has an outside chance of making the $100 million milestone, but most horror films are front loaded with their total grosses.
THE LAST JEDI dropped to the #3 spot, with #23.6 million and now has a $572.5 million, domestically, after 24 days of release. Worldwide, the movie has over $1.2 Billion, with its opening in China, this weekend.
