US Box Office Results: January 19 - 21, 2018
JIMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE continues to dominate the box office, winning its third straight weekend and crossing over the $3000 million mark. Worldwide, the film is closing in on $800 million.
Two new films battled it out ofr second place, with the military drama, 12 STRONG grabbing $16.5 million , to edge out DEN OF THIVES by $1.2 million. DEN OF THIEVES had a higher perscreen average as it was in roughly 600 less theaters than 12 STRONG.
In its sixth week out, STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI added another 6.6 million to its $600 million domestic total. It is now the #6 highest grossing movie of all-time, less than $20 million behind MARVEL'S AVENGERS and $48 million behind JURASSIC WORLD.
