US Box Office Results: November 3 - 5, 2017
The latest movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, THORE: RAGNOROK, grossed a solid $121 million in its first three days of release. That ranks 7th over all in the 17 film franchise and is the best opening for a THOR movie, topping THE DARK WORLD by $36 million. The movie should reach $300 million, with no problem and make back its $180 production budget.
The weekends only other major release was A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS, coming in second with $17 million. That is nearly $7 million less than the first BAD MOMS movie, release in July, 2016. Despite the opening weekend, the movie will easily make back its $28 million production budget.
Off the chart, in its second weekend of release, Matt Damon's SUBURBICON grossed just $1.2 million, ranking 13th for the weekend and has grossed $5 million its its first 10 days or release.
