Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 11/29/2017

CBS and NBC battled it out for leadership on Wednesday night, with just 400,000 viewers separating the two networks, tying in the A18-49 demographic and a tenth of a point difference in the A18-34 and A25-54 demos. CBS was powered by back-to-back episodes of SURVIVOR, which won both the 8 and 9 PM hours. At 10 PM, the CBS special, BRUNO MARS: 24K MAGIC, fell to second place, behind CHICAGO PD.

NBC had the most watched show of the night in CHRISTMAS AT ROCKEFELLER CENTER, which drew 9.0 million viewers and was second in the hour in the demos. Viewership was down 1.5 million, from 2016, but was flat in the A18-49 demographic. LAW & ORDER: SVU, off for the past two weeks, was up over 20% from its last broadcast, topping the ABC 9 PM Comedies.

FOX falls to a close third place as EMPIRE and STAR post season lows. EMPIRE was #3 in the 8 PM time slot, while STAR falls to fourth at 9 PM.

ABC was a distant 4th place, ranking 4th in the 8 PM hour and last in the 10 PM hour. MODERN FAMILY and AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE combined for a place third showing in the 9 PM hour.
