Preliminary Ratings: Tuesday 11/21/2017

NBC takes the Tuesday night in the ratings, sweeping the younger demographics and averaging the second most viewers on the night, behind CBS. The season premiere of CHICAGO MED had a soft start, collecting 6.2 million viewers and a 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49. The drama's retention out of THIS IS US roughly 50% in the demos and 67% in total viewership. But that is a vast improvement from the former occupant of the time slot, LAW & ORDER TRUE CRIMES.

ABC had its season finale of DANCING WITH THE STARS, which drew 9.2 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. It was #2 in the 9 PM hour and won the 10 PM hour. Compared to last fall's finale, DWTS was down 1.8 million viewers and 28% in the demo.

CBS was the most watched network and second in the A25-54 demographic. The network was second from 8 to 10 PM, with NCIS: NO falling to third, at 10 PM.

FOX fought hard to fend off The CW from fourth place. The two networks tied in the A18-34 demographic and FOX only posted a tenth of a point advantage in the A18-49 demo.
