US Box Office Results: October 27 - 29, 2017
There were three new movies in wide release this weekend, but only JIGSAW, topped 8-figures, collecting $16.3 million in its first three days. JIGSAW is the eighth film n the SAW franchise, but has the second lowest opening weekend in the series, topping only SAW IV, from 2009.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE only collected $3.7 million in its first weekend, but seemed to have minimal promotion before the film's release.
Promotion was not the issue for SUBURBICON's flop at the box office as it grossed only 2.8 million for the George Clooney direct, Matt Damon lead film. This is one of the worst openings from a MAtt Damon led movie, all but one (ALL THE PRETTY HORSES) in limited release in their opening weekend. For Clooney, this is the worst opening of film he directed that opened in more then 2,000 theaters.
