US Box Office Results: October 13 - 15, 2017
The horror movie, HAPPY DEATH DAY was the weekend's top movie, hauling in $36.5 million in its first three days of release. The Blumhouse production made five-times its production budget ($4.8 million) in its opening weekend, and is on track to gross 10-15 times that by the end of its run.
Last week's #1 movie, BLAD RUNNER 20149, dropped to second, taking in just $15.1 million. The movie's 10-day total is not at $60.5 million, less than ahlf of its $150 million production budget. But, the international box office now at just under $100 million, should help the movie break even by year's end.
The return of Jacki Chan produced a soft return, grossing just $12.8 million in its opening weekend. But, the film should takin in its $35 million production budget an make a profit with its current $88 million international take.
