Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 10/11/2017
FOX takes a competitive Wednesday night in the ratings, winning the all three demographic categories, but coming in third in total viewers. EMPIRE and STAR were mostly flat, week-to-week, averaging a 1.7 raring in Adults 18-49, topping ABC and CBS by four-tenths of a point. The lead is just three-tenths of a point, in the older A25-54 age group.
CBS edges ABC and NBC with a relatively strong showing from SURVIVOR, #2 in the 8 PM hour. Viewership is down from last week, but the A18-49 demographic is even, for CBS.
MODERN FAMILY slipped from last week, allowing EMPIRE to reign alone as the top show in the A18-49 demo. Overall, ABC was even from last Wednesday, coming in third at 8 PM, second at 9 PM and last at 10 PM.
NBC was down week-to-week, losing a tenth of a point in the A18-49 demographic. Both THE BLACKLIST and LAW & ORDER: SVU were the source of that loss in the key demo.
On the CW, RIVERDALE has a strong return, collecting 2.3 million viewers and a 0.8 rating in Adults 18-49. That is a million more viewers than last season's high, and double the season average in the demo. As expected, the reboot DYNASTY series premiere did not do as well, losing 45% of the total audience, 50% in the A18-49 demo and over 60% in the A18-34 demo. A series about spoiled one percenters does not play in today's culture.
