Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 10/08/2017

There were two season premiers on the night, first from ABC's long running series, AMERICA'S FUNNIEST VIDEOS, at 8 PM. The season opener, now in a new time slot, drew 4.5 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49. Last year. AFV opened its season with 4.7 million viewers and a 1.0 demo rating. On the night, ABC was the 4th place network as THE TOY BOX, at 7 PM, drew the night's lowest numbers, and new drama, TEN DAYS IN THE VALLEY, at 10 PM posted the second lowest numbers of the night.

The second season premiere came from MADAM SECRETARY, now airing at 10 PM, on CBS. 7.1 million viewers watched the first episode, along with a 0.87 rating in Adults 18-49. CBS as a whole, held a consistent audience throughout the night.

NBC, with SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, had an easy time sweeping the night, but it was another low rated game for NBC. The Chiefs vs Texans game drew just 14.9 million viewers, 900k above last week's preliminary numbers. The game should settle above 17 million, when finals are released on Tuesday.

FOX had the top premiere game of the day, with the PACKERS vs COWBOYS playing into primetime, in a game that was not decided until the last few seconds of the game. 23.7 million viewers were delivered by FOX from the NFL to its primetime line up.The four comedies were each #2 in their respective time slots, in the three younger age groups.
