US Box Office Results: September 8 - 10, 2017
The remake horror movie, IT, scared up the best weekend gross in nearly two months, hauling in $117 million, in its first three days of release. The Stephen King adaptation is the biggest weekend take since the first weekend of DUNKIRK back on July 21-23, 2017. IT has the biggest opening weekend of any Stephen King movie, and of any Horror movie. it is also the best opening weekend by any movie, in September.
The other new release, HOME AGAIN, was a very distant second place, with just $9.0 million. It did nearly double up the #3 movie of the weekend, last week's #1 movie, THE JITMAN'S BODY GUARD.
