If you had primetime football, you did well in the ratings. Unfortunately, for CBS, they did not and ended up in 4th place on the week, in the younger demographic ratings, but second in total viewership. CBS failed to score a top 10 program, but did push 11 shows in the top 30.
NBC dominated the week, airing TWO NFL games on the week, The Kick-Off game, on Thursday night, drew 21.8 million viewers and a 7.7 rating in Adults 18-49, for second place. The regular Sunday Night Game (#1) commanded 24.4 million viewers and a 9.1 demo rating. With pre-game shows and two AMERICA'S GOT TALENT nights, NBC took seven of the top 10 spots.
With an NFL Overrun, on Sunday, and the first fall series premiere with THE ORVILLE, FOX ran up to second place. The Science Fiction series ranked 10th on the week, attracting 8.6 million viewers and a 2.7 rating in the A18-49 demographic. But, FOX only managed three shows in the top 30, all in the top 10, with the NFL Game (#3) and the post-game show, THE OT (#7).
ABC was third with its Saturday Night College Football Game ranking 12th on the week, with a 2.5 demographic rating and 8.1 total viewers. It was the top program on the network and was one of six to make the top 30.
