US Box Office Results: August 11 - 13, 2017

Horror film, ANNABELLE: CREATION was the #1 movie for the weekend of August 11 - 13, 2017. The newest film in the franchise hauled in over $35 million in its first three days, more than doubling the $15 million production budget. It is the lowest opening of the four films in the franchise, but less than $7 million separate the top from the bottom. ANNABELLE: CREATION is on track to gross over $100 million by the end of its run.

DUNKIRK hold at #2, hauling in another $11.4 million, bringing its 4 week total to $154 million, domestically. Worldwide, the WWII film has grossed just under $364 million.

Animated film, THE NUT JOB 2 came in very soft, in the #3 spot. The film was in the most theaters this weekend, with just over $,000, but only hauled in $8.9 million. Its per screen average was just $2,232.

Last week's #1 movie, THE DARK TOWER fell to fourth place, adding just $7.9 million. The summer flop is now only at $34.3 million, in ten days, and it looks very bleak for it to bring in its $60 million production budget.
