Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 06/29/2017

Thursday was the first summer night that the BIG 4 networks gave us a competitive night of original programming, and CBS came out on top. After encores of THE BIG BANG THEORY (#1) and LIFE IN PIECES (#3), BIG BROTHER topped all shows with the best demographic ratings of the night. The reality series posted a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49, down two-tenths from the previous night's premiere. At 10 PM, was the season premiere of ZOO (#11), which dropped about 75% of its lead in demographic audiences, to rank third in the hour.

NBC and FOX were neck-and-neck for second place on the night. FOX excelled in the A18-34 demographic, with BEAT SHAZAM (#11) getting the second best rating (0.7) in the demographic. But, LOVE CONNECTION (#13) fell to fourth in the 9 PM hour and was the least watched show, excluding the CW.

NBC peaked at 9 PM, with THE WALL (#3) and its 4.7 million viewers and 1.0 rating in the A18-49 demo. HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT topped BOY BAND, but THE NIGH SHIFT fell to THE GONG SHOW.

ABC was a close fourth place, just two tenths of a point out from CBS, in the A18-34 and A18-49 demos. The series premiere of BATTLE OF THE NETWORK STARS had a promising start, increasing its lead in numbers by 1.3 million viewers and 100% in the A18-49 demographic. THE GONG SHOW won the 10 PM hour, holding steady from last week's premiere.
