US Box Office Results: May 26 - 28, 2017
The fifth movie of the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise, DEAD MEN TELL NO TELLS, is the box office king of Memorial Day weekend, grossing $62.2 million in its first weekend of release. This is the weakest opening of the franchise, since the first movie, 14 years ago. The movie should be a profitable venture for Disney, as the film has grossed over $200 million in international markets.
GUARDIANS 2 is still going strong, adding another $20 million, for a total domestic take of $333 million.
New comer, BAYWATCH, starring The Rock and Zach Efron, pulled in a decent $18.1 million and a total of $22 million since its release.
