US Box Office Results: May 19 - 21, 2017
ALIEN: COVENANT edges out GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY from three-peat, by collecting $36 million on its first three days of release. The bad news is the ALIEN movie only made $36 million in its first three days of release. That puts its total domestic take at around $100 million, right at its production budget.
GUARDIANS broke the $300 million mark this weekend, domestically, and $730 million worldwide.
The fourth DIARY OF A WHIMPY KID movie fell flat, grossing just over seven million dollars anf on track to make about half of the previous release, in the series.
