US Box Office Results: May 12 - 14, 2017
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 held of two new releases to dominate the weekend box office, hauling in an additional $63 million. After 10 days of release, GUARDIANS has brought in $246 million, making the #2 movie of the year, so far.
The Goldie Hawn/Amy Schumer comedy, SNATCHED, was the #2 movie of the weekend, grossing $17.5 million. Not a horrible first weekend, but the movie will struggle to make back its $42 million production budget.
The big-budget, KING ARTHUR: THE LEGEND OF THE SWORD could only rise to a third place finish, bringing in just $14.7 million. The Guy Ritchie directed film only will never make back its $175 million broduction budget, even with international grosses added in. So far, the film has made just under $44 million, worldwide.
