THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS may have grossed the most money over this past weekend ($19.4 million), but it was two smaller films that packed in the crowds, wherever the played. Right behind it was the India film, BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION, in just 425 theaters. Its average was a whopping $23,855 per screen, for a total take of $10.1 million. That tops FATE's opening weekend average ($22,920 and is only second to BEATY & THE BEAST ($41,508) for 2017. BAAHUBALI 2 has the third best opening for a foreign language film, behind Jet Li's FEARLESS and 2004's HERO.
BEAUTY AND THE BEST continues to hang in there, ranking 6th on the chart and pushing its domestic total to $480 million.
