Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 05/10/2017

There were two season finales on Wednesday night, with the first being the 12th season finale of CRIMINAL MINDS. The veteran crime drama brought in 8.0 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49, placing second in the 9 PM time slot. That is the top numbers in 2017 and the best performance since October, 2016. CBS won the night in total viewers and the A25-54 demographic and was right behind FOX in the younger A18-49 and A18-34 demos.

BLACK-ISH ended its third season with 4.7 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. That is on par with recent ratings, since the start of the spring. The night was rather flat for ABC as it finished third on the night.

FOX is still able to win part of the night, posting the best numbers in the two younger demographic age groups. EMPIRE, fading fast, is still the top audience grabber of younger viewers, posting the best numbers in all three demographics. But, the third year drama has dropped about a third of it audience since the March 22, spring premiere and is not as dominate in the ratings as it once was.

NBC finished fourth on the night, with its three dramas. The network finished fourth in the 8 & 9 PM hours, while CHICAGO PD won the 10 PM hour.
