Final Broadcast Ratings: May 1, 2017
The first day in may has ABC and NBC sharing leadership in the broadcast ratings. ABC collects the most viewers and win the A18-34 demographic, while NBC, second in viewers and the younger demo, tops ABC in the A18-49 and A25-54 demographics.
ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS was the most watched show of the night (10.3 million viewers) and drew the top A18-34 rating, with a 1.1 score. But, QUANTICO drops two-thirds of its lead in audience, at 10 PM, and rankes third in the hour. Expect QUANTICO to see the chopping block, later this month.
THE VOICE was the nights top draw for Adults 18-49 and 25-54. lead in NBC to victories in the two categories. The season finale of TAKEN soft, ranking second in the 10 PM hour. At best, the TV adaptation is on the bubble for renewal.
CBS was a distant third place, topping FOX in viewers and Adults 25-54 and tying FOX in the A18-49 demo. Relocated THE GREAT INDOORS did not better then 2 BROKE GIRLS, at 9:30, and that may be the tipping point for not renewing the sitcom for a second season. SCORPION did push CBS to win the last third of the night.
LUCIFER returned to typical spring numbers, but a vast improvement over last week's APB finale. Pared with Gotham and FOX has a decent and consistent line up for both to get renewed. Plus, FOX has too many other problems to deal with.
