US Box Office Results: April 21 - 23, 2017
The top of this week's box office is exactly the same as last week's. THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS ($38.7 million) and #1. The animated film, THE BOSS BABY ($12.8 million) at the #2 spot, and the #3 position is still BEAUTY & THE BEAST ($10.0 million). FATE has a total 10-day domestic gross of over $163 million, and world wide take of over $900 million. BEAUTY & THE BEAST crossed over the One Billion mark, worldwide, this weekend, with $471 million domestically and just under $630 million internationally.The top new movie of the weekend is DisneyNature's BORN IN CHINA nature film. in just over 1,500 theaters, the family film took in $5.1 million. That is a higher per screen average than BATB.
Arriving DOA at the theaters was UNFORGETTABLE. The $12 million production grossed just $4.8 million in its first weekend, and will struggle to gross its production budget, by the time it leaves theaters.
