Final Broadcast Ratings: April 2, 2017
CBS continues to roll, sweeping another night in the ratings. For Sunday night, it was the ACADEMY OF CONTRY MUSIC AWARDS that pushed it well pas the other networks. The annual event hauled in 10.9 million viewers and a decent 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49, from 8 to 11 PM. That is down a notch from last year's 11.2 million viewers and a 2.3 demo rating.
LITTLE BIG SHOTS continues to be the top regular series on the night, but since its season premiere on March 5th, the variety program has lost 3.1 million viewers and 35% in the A18-49 demographic. NBC still placed second on the night, edging out ABC and FOX.
FOX edged ABC in two of the three demographic categories, even with FAMILY GUY airing an encore episode. A positive for the network was small growth out of the FAMILY GUY repeat, for THE LAST MAN ON EARTH. The third year comedy should see a fourth season renewal, come May.
ABC had another dismal Sunday night, even with the season premiere of MATCH GAME. The game show replaces the quickly cancelled TIME AFTER TIME DRAMA, improving the 9 PM time slot, slightly. Comparing the premiere to last week's last episode of TAT, ABC was up 600,000 viewers and two-tenths of a point, in the A18-49 demo. 10 PM drama, AMERICAN CRIME still struggles, drawing under 1.8 million viewers.
