US Box Office Results: March 10 - 12, 2017
The latest remake of King Kong topped this weekends box office, as KONG: SKULL ISLAND hauled in $61 million in its first three days. It topped the 2005 remake by $11 million, in its opening weekend.
Last week's #1 movie, LOGAN, had a huge drop in its second weekend, dripping 57% at the box office. But, it still pulled in just under #38 million for the second spot on the chart. In ten days, the X-MEN film has grossed over $152 million, domestically, and and another $285 internationally. Not bad for a $95 million production budget.
GET OUT crossed over the $100 million, with a weekend take of over $21 million. Its 17 day gross of $111 million is over 20 times the production cost of the film itself.
