Final Broadcast Ratings: March 2, 2017
NBC sweeps the Thursday night ratings, thinks to a special Thursday edition of THE VOICE, which drew 10.7 million viewers and a 2.3 rating n Adults 18-49, easily winning the hour. At 9 PM, CHICAGO MED had a great lead in and the final part of a four-part Franchise crossover event, and posted its best ratings of the season, 8.8 million viewers and a 1.7 demo rating. All this great early ratings was lost with THE BLACKLIST: REDEMPTION. The spin-off drama last close to half the total audience from CHICAGO MED and over 40% in the A18-49 demographic.
FOX closed out the low rated cooking series, MY KITCHEN RULES, as just 2.2 million viewers tuned in for the final episode. From start to finish, the series struggled to draw an audience and I doubt we will see the series back in 2018.
CBS was in encore mode as the first two hours of the night were repeats of the comedies. The encores did well enough to rank second in each hour, behind NBC. At 10 PM, a new TRAINING DAY pulled in its usually low ratings, losing about a third of the demo ratings, form is comedy lead in.
The CW pulled in 4th place for the night thanks to ABC airing the third part of WHEN WE RISE and a Behind the Story special of the TV event series. WHEN WE RISE was the lowest rated program of the night. With 9 hours devoted to WHEN WE RISE this week, ABC is on pace for a distant fourth place finish, after winning the previous week.
