Primetime Cable Ratings: January 20, 2017

Inauguration Day pushes the cable new networks to the top of the Friday night chart, with FOX News taking spots one, two and three, while CNN follows with spots four, five and six. MSNBC is a little behind, with spots 9, 13 and 14.

FOX News averaged 6.9 million viewers in Primetime, and all three programs posted relatively strong A18-49 demos, at a 1.0 or better. FOX News also had the top daytime numbers, with the 12 PM hour generating 11 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49.

CNN averaged 4.5 million viewers, in primetime, and a 0.9 demo rating. It's best hour was at 9 PM, and during the President's speech, in the 12PM hour, CNN drew just a third of the viewers that FOX News did and half the audience in the A18-49 demo.

MSNBC, which saw ratings go up during the many Presidential Debates, in 2016, was mostly flat, compared to a regular evening of news.
