Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 01/18/2017

It doesn't get much tighter in the ratings than it did on Wednesday night, as all four networks were mostly even with each other, with three of the four networks tying in all three demographic categories. ABCm CBS and NBC were tied for second, right behind FOX's 1.0 rating. ABC, NBC and FOX just inched past CBS for a three-way tie in the A18-49 demo and  in the A25=54 demo.

The PEOPLE CHOICE AWARDS, on CBS, did relatively OK ratings, grabbing 6.6 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49. Compared to last year, that is up 600,000 in total viewership, but off by about 10% in the A18-49 demo. Earlier, UNDERCOVER BOSS ended its season placing thid in the 8 PM hour, topping just BLINDSPOT, on NBC.

ABC's SPEECHLESS was the top rated program in the demographic ratings, with the best numbers in the A18-49 demo and A25-54 demo. , FOX's STAR was #1 in the younger, A18-34 demo.

And speaking of BLIND SPOT, it was the worst rated show of the evening, from the Big 4 networks, doing slightly worse than MATCH GAME, on ABC).
