Final Broadcast Ratings: January 17, 2017
NBC dominates in the younger demographic ratings to win the night, while CBS hauls in the most viewers, more than the combined total from ABC and NBC. Once again, ABC and FOX duke it out for scraps and the CW is still benching its heavy hitters.
THIS IS US, down just under one million viewers and 13% in the A18-49 demo from last week, is still the top dog of the night, in the demos, with nothing else really even coming close. The 2.6 rating in Adults 18-49 is almost 40% better than #2, NCIS. THE WALL, which proceeded it, is a solid contender and beat time period champ, NCIS, in the A18-34 demo. NBC is building a solid night, without either THE VOICE or NFL Football in the mix.
CBS did have three of the four most watched shows of the night, with NCIS leading the way with 15.4 million. The demographic ratings are solid, finishing either first or second in their respective time slots.
ABC started the night off well, with THE MIDDLE tying THE WALL for second pace in the A18-49 and and topping it in the A25-54 demos and in total viewership, but the rest of the night just got worse and worse. By the time AGENTS OF SHIELD began, at 10 PM, viewership was less than a third of where it started.
FOX still places fourth on the night, averaging less than three million viewers.
The CW said good-bye to NO TOMORROW as the season/series finale drew just 600,000 viewers.
