Final Broadcast Ratings: January 16, 2017
ABC and CBS split leadership in the Monday night ratings, with ABC taking the younger, A18-34 and A18-49 demographics, while CBS attracted the most viewers and more people in the A25-54 demographic. FOX topped NBC for the #3 spot, as GOTHAM and LUCIFER returned to new episodes. CW did get some traction from its HOWIE MANDEL ALL STAR COMEDY GALA, getting about 1.4 million viewers, over two full hours.
THE BACHELOR was the night's top draw for younger audiences, including a solid 2.4 rating in Adults 18-34. Week-to-week is up about 15 to 20 percent in the demos and total viewership rose about 10 percent.
Comedy, KEVIN CAN WAIT was the most watched program of the evening, collecting 8.6 million viewers and topped THE BACHELOR in the A25-54 demographic. it is the best numbers for the sitcom since moving to the 8 PM slot. CBS also won the 10 PM hour, topping the "Number One new drama on Monday nights"^, TIMELESS and the ABC game show, BIG FAN. TIMELESS suffers from a bad lead in program, while BIG FAN is just bing completely rejected by the ABC audience.
NBC's CELEBRITY APPRENTICE did barely top new episodes of FOX's GOTHAM and LUCIFER, but add in the return of TIMELESS, and FOX pushed NBC to fourth place on the night.
