US Box Office Results: November 25 - 27, 2016
The latest Disney animated movie dominates the holiday weekend at the box office, as MOANA collected $55.5 million since Friday and a total of $81.1 million since its Wednesday release. That is about $20 million less tha ZOOTIPOIA's three day total of $75 million, but near ZOOTOPIA's 5-day (non-holiday) total of $85 million. ither wa, MOANA is on track for near or over a $250 million total take.
The new Brad Pitt movie, ALLIED, grosed just $13 million, ranking fourth for the weekend. it too was released on wednesday and the 5-Day total is $18 million. That ranked 18th overall for a Brad Pitt movie opening, excluding animated features, right behind 1995's SEVEN.
BAD SANTA 2 did not live up to the original movie, grosing just $6.1 million over the weekend and $9 million for the holiday. The orignal 2003 movie, released the same time of year, took in $40 million on the weekend and $45 million for the Thanksgiving holiday.
