US Box Office Results: November 18 - 20, 2016
The latest film in the Harry potter franchise grabbed the #1 spot in its opening weekend, grossing $75 millon. Unfortunately for Warner brothers, it is the smallest opeing of three nine HP films, behind 2007's ORDER OF THE PHOENIX ($77m). We'll see if FANTASTIC BEASTS can match the $294 million PHOENIX grossed, nine yrars ago.
The previous #1 movie, DR. STRANGE, brought in another $17.7 million, bringing its 17 day total to $181 million. That currently places it 10th, of 14 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, with $200 million easily in sight.
