Top 100 Primetime Cable: Sept. 26 - Oct. 2, 2016

The first Presidential Debate of the election season dominated this weeks cable ratings, as FOX News captures 11.4 million viewers and a 2.4 rating in Adults 18-49, as this week's most watched program. CNN's coverage, ranked third overall, collected 9.0 million viewers, but posted a superior 3.6 rating in the A18-49 demo. MSNBC was not left out, drawing 4.1 million viewers of its own, ranking 7th overall.

The debate took a big bite out of MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, as it lost one-third of its audience, from the previous week. ESPN only brought in 8.0 million viewers and a 3.1 rating in the demo. That barely topped THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, exclusively on NFL Network, which was just about 150,000 behind and a tenth of a point lower in the A18-49 demographic.

FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, ranked 11th, was this weeks top original, scripted program, drawing 3.7 million viewers, along with a 1.6 demo rating, for the 9 PM episode. That bested AMERICAN HORROR STORY but 600,000 total viewers, but was a tenth of a point behind the FX series in the demo. The season finale of FEAR ranked 20th, with 3.0 million viewers.

We have to look at the 40th position for the week;s top reality series. LOVE & HIP HOP: HOLLYWOOD hauled in 2.1 million viewers to stay within the top half of this week's chart.
