NBC had an easy time winning the Wednesday night ratings, especially in the three demographic ratings. THE VOICE pulled in the night's second best demo numbers, posting a 2.6 rating in Adults 18-49. that is up near 30% from last week's Tuesday night edition. Hit freshman series, THIS IS US, grew in all three demos, by 25% in the A18-34 demo and 18% in the A18-49 demo. NBC may have its first, self-starting scripted hit program in many years. The season premiere of CHICAGO FIRE was the weal link for the network, losing 36% in the A18-49 demo, from its lead in, and 2.3 million viewers. However, CHICAGO FIRE is even with the 2015 season premiere.
CBS was the most watched network, with the two most watched programs of the night. NCIS collected 14.5 million viewers, while BULL kept 13 million, for a 90% retention rate. NCIS: NEW ORLEANS drops 25% from its lead in, but maintains a second place showing for the 10 PM hour.
ABC kicked of its Tuesday night comedy block, topping NCIS in the 8 PM hour, in the A18-49 demo. THE MIDDLE took a 25% hit from last year's premiere, collecting just a 1.7 demo rating. New comedy, AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE did grow out of THE MIDDLE and was ABC's top performing show of the night. FRESH OFF THE BOAT lost 17% of its demo lead in, while THE REAL O'NEALS lost an addition 20% from its lead in. AGENTS OF SHIELD dropped another 33%, pulling a 0.9 rating in the A18-49 demographic.
FOX was a non factor, doing no better than The CW on the night. The two FOX Comedies lost to THE FLASH, across the board. The CW freshman series, NO TOMORROW may be on the chopping block now, as it lost 70% of its lead in, in the total viewers and the A18-49 demo.
