Primetime Cable Ratings: September 2, 2016

Since the two political national conventions, back in July, MSNBC has been red hot. It has already started drawing more viewers than rival CNN, and now is gunning for FOX News. The RACHEL MADDOW SHOW (#3) drew 1.7 million viewers, on a Friday night, the start of a holiday weekend. That is just 150,000 viewers behind THE KELLY FILE, going head-to-head in the same time period.

The ANCIENT ALIENS season finale collected 1.3 million viewers at 9 PM, with an encore episode, at 10 PM, holding onto 1.1 million viewers.

The FS1 College football game and Lifetime's THE RAP GAME were the top original draws for the A18-49 demographic, as both programs posted a 0.5 rating, while reruns of FAMILY GUY, on Adults Swim, posted the best demo numbers of the night.
