Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 09/07/2016

NBC took the Wednesday night ratings, winning every hour of the night. The night kicked off with a political forum of the two presidential candidates, which drew the night's most viewers, with 10.8 million. The NBC news special topped BIG BROTHER in the A25-54 demo and tied it in the A18-49 demo. AMERICA'S GOT TALENT built upon its lead in, growing by one to two tenths of a point in each demographic. viewership dropped a small amount at 9 PM. A special RUNNING WILD with BEAR GRYLLS topped its weaker competition, but did lose half of the total audience of its lead in and over 35% of the A18-49 demographic viewers.

For FOX, Wednesday is the only night of the week with decent ratings, as it takes second place on the night. MASTERCHEF averaged 4.3 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in Adults 18-49.

Thanks to a two hour season/series finale of AMERICAN GOTHIC almost pushed CBS down to a 4th place finish, below an all-encore ABC line up. AMERICAN GOTHIC was the lowest rated program on the big 4 networks, in the three demo categories and tied the CW in the A18-34 demo.
