Golden Globes has new host:
For its 2017 awards event, The Golden Globes has selected Jimmy Fallon as the new host.
More BIG BROTHER:
CBS has ordered a special fall edition of its summer reality series, BIG BROTHER. But, the series will not air on the CBS network, but will be available on CBS All-Access. The season will be for 10 weeks, instead of the usual 13-14 weeks.
HBO picks up anthology series:
ROOM 104, from the Duplas Brothers, has been picked up for series by HBO, for a 2017 premiere.
New Hulu boss:
TimeWarner has purchased a 10% stake into the streaming service, HULU. In the deal, Turner-owned networks will gain carriage on a live OTT TV service that Hulu is expected to launch in 2017.
More George RR Martin:
Universal Cable Productions has acquired the rights and ordered a series based on the Author's WILD CARDS series. The book series is about to release its 23rd volume.
ABC tags Kyra Sedgwick:
Former THE CLOSER star, Kyra Sedgwick, will replace Demi Moore as the lead character in the new ABC drama series, TEN DAYS IN THE VALLEY. The new series has a 10 episode commitment and will premiere in 2017.
ANDI MACK coming to Disney:
From the creators of LIZZIE MCGUIRE, Disney has picked up the kids series ANDI MACK for 2017.
ABC renews multiple game shows:
With good success this summer, ABC has renewed all four of its traditional, summer primetime games shows, for another season. Expect to see new episodes of CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD, $100,000 PYRAMID, MATCH GAME and TO TELL THE TRUTH in 2017.
