Preliminary Ratings: August 25, 2016

It was a battle between CBS and NBC for top leadership of Thursday night, but NBC just edges out CBS for its 21st nightly win in a row. The NFL Preseason game between Atlanta and Miami drew 5.7 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in Adults 18-49. It was not the top program of the night, falling behind BIG BROTHER at 9 PM.

CBS tied NBC for total viewership, was fell behind in the three demographic categories. BIG BROTHER drew 6.1 million viewers and a 1.9 demo rating, up from last week's numbers. THE BIG BANG THEORY encore was the night's most watched show, with 7.5 million viewers.

ABC and FOX were next-and-neck, averaging the same number of viewers and posting the same A18-34 and A18-49 demo rating. Currently, ABC has the edge in the A25-54 demo, by a tenth of a point.
